UFO Sighting Report — Indianapolis, Indiana, 16 April 1965

According to the Duty Officer's report, a call was received from L/Col DeLoughary of the 17th Bomb Wing regarding a UFO report from an airborne crew. The object was spotted in the vicinity of Indianapolis and confirmed by two other aircraft crews. The Duty Officer provided the crew with current reporting forms for their post-landing debriefing. The Duty Officer noted that the event could potentially involve the decay of a space object, suggesting that Project MOON DUST be alerted, along with TDAOS (Lt Neel) and TDEW (TSGT Moody). The witness, whose name is redacted, described the object as a very bright white light with a greenish tinge on the outer edges, which appeared for 3 to 5 seconds before breaking into two pieces and disappearing.
