UFO Hovers Over Car in Hanna, BC

On August 7, 1968, Harold Howery, a merchant from Hanna, British Columbia, reported a UFO sighting while traveling west from Revelstoke with his family. According to the report, the incident occurred late at night under an overcast sky. Mr. Howery observed an object that approached quickly from the south and hovered approximately 60 feet in front of and above his vehicle. He described the object as a single, large, light-blue light, comparing its appearance to a beacon on a watchtower, with an estimated diameter of 30 feet. During the encounter, the object followed the car for a distance of about three miles, moving from side to side in a pendulum-like motion. Mr. Howery attempted to test the object's behavior by varying his driving speed and coming to a complete stop, but the object remained in a hovering position. He noted that there was no noise or electrical disturbance associated with the object. Eventually, the object departed southward at a high rate of speed. Mr. Howery's wife was also present and witnessed the event. The report explicitly states that Mr. Howery ruled out the possibility of the object being a car light or an aircraft due to its specific movements.
