This document is a Project 10073 record card and associated teletype report detailing an Unidentified Flying Object sighting that occurred on 24 September 1958, south of Oregon, Wisconsin. The report was filed by the 37th NORADDIV and directed to various Air Force intelligence commands, including the Air Technical Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The primary witness was a civilian housewife who observed a very bright, white light that alternated to red. The object was described as being larger than an aircraft light and was observed jumping back and forth for a duration of approximately 13 minutes. The witness reported a jet-like sound associated with the object. The weather conditions at the time were noted as cloudy with occasional light rain and a complete overcast. The investigating officer, Captain R.T. Smith, noted that the information provided was insufficient for a detailed evaluation, specifically citing a lack of data regarding the object's shape, elevation, and azimuth. Despite the lack of detailed data, the official conclusion reached by the reporting controller was that the sighting was likely caused by T-33 aircraft performing shooting landings in the area. An inquiry to the University of Wisconsin Observatory yielded negative results. The report was formally processed and forwarded to the Eastern Air Defense Force (EADF) operations center.
