REPEAT PERFORMANCE

This article, titled 'Repeat Performance' by pilot Anton Fitzgerald, recounts two remarkably similar UFO encounters experienced by the author in different parts of the world. The first incident occurred in the Natal midlands of South Africa during a misty late June morning. While preparing for a flight, Fitzgerald and his farm manager, Jock Marais, observed a large, iridescent, pinkish bubble-shaped object on the runway. The object, estimated at 100 feet in diameter, caused unusual behavior in local livestock, including sheep forming two one-third circles and guinea fowl falling silent. Fitzgerald reported a sensation of weightlessness as the object ascended vertically. A Zulu tractor driver, Ndolwana, witnessed the event and linked it to an ancient Zulu legend regarding visitors from another world. A year later, on June 15, Fitzgerald experienced a second, nearly identical encounter near San Angelo, Texas, while flying with a pilot named Jake. During this flight, they observed a glowing object that caused their aircraft's instruments to malfunction, with the altimeter and vertical speed indicator spinning wildly. The object ascended rapidly into the sky, disappearing into the cloud cover. Fitzgerald later learned that a local rancher, Ted Leslie, had also experienced a similar event involving a missing steer and the same 'pinkish glow' associated with the legend of a 'red sun.' Fitzgerald notes that he reported these incidents to Project Blue Book, the U.S. Air Force department tasked with investigating unidentified flying objects. He concludes by reflecting on the commonalities between these sightings, specifically the gravitational effects and the recurring themes found in indigenous folklore, suggesting that these phenomena may have been observed by humanity for thousands of years.
