FLYING SAUCERS IN SPAIN AND NORTH AFRICA

This Central Intelligence Agency report, dated August 27, 1952, compiles various newspaper accounts of 'flying saucer' sightings across Spain, Tunisia, and French Morocco between May and June 1952. The document details several distinct incidents. In Barcelona on May 21, a witness named Valentin Garcia reported seeing a rocket-shaped object traveling at high speed, leaving a smoke trail, and later reappearing after a brief disappearance. A photograph of this smoke trail was attributed to Francisco Andreu. In Tunisia, on June 3, inhabitants of Sousse observed an object emitting a pale green light traveling at high speed. In Meknes, Morocco, on June 7, two witnesses reported a bright object moving at 'lightning speed' that emitted a white smoke trail, made no sound, and described a parabola before disappearing toward Ifrane. On the morning of June 15, dock workers in Taourirt, French Morocco, observed a disc of white flames surrounded by two circular strands, which moved earthward and vanished. Finally, on June 15, a former pilot named Andre Assorin observed a flying saucer over Casablanca, though the Meteorological Bureau claimed no such sighting was recorded by them.
