Relatório ONI No. 015 — Tatuí, Brazil, October 1968

This report, filed by SO Aragão on October 15, 1968, details an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (ONI) sighting that occurred on October 10, 1968, in Tatuí, Brazil. The primary witness, José Carlos Molitor, a 34-year-old night guard, was on duty with a companion, Sr. Orlando, near the Praça da Cadeia. At approximately 02:00, they observed a luminous object hovering at a height of about one meter. The object was described as being the size of a Karmann-Ghia vehicle, greenish-blue in color, and emitting a flame-like appearance. As the object descended, the city experienced a power failure. The witness reported feeling paralyzed and unable to move, hearing fine, intermittent tapping sounds similar to the vibrations of a needle. The object eventually ascended vertically to about 20 meters, hovered for one second, and then departed at high speed on a heading of 340 degrees towards Botucatu, leaving a trail similar to a shooting star. The report includes a sketch of the location and notes that the witness was armed with a .38 caliber Taurus revolver but was unable to use it due to his paralyzed state. No photographic or radar evidence was obtained.
