The 2012 Pecos Conference

This document consists of two distinct parts. The first is a personal account of the 2012 Pecos Conference, an annual archaeological gathering held at the Pecos National Historical Park. The author describes the event as an informal, public-facing conference with no permanent leadership, characterized by tent-based accommodations, organic flooring, and a unique time-keeping system involving a stuffed sheep with a bell. The author reflects on the presentations, noting a mix of professional and student work, and expresses frustration with speakers who failed to adhere to the 15-minute time limit. The second part of the document is an entry from the UAP Document Archive, Case #392, which summarizes the initial public claims made by Robert Lazar on 15 May 1989 via KLAS-TV in Las Vegas. Lazar alleged employment at a facility known as S-4 near Groom Lake/Area 51, where he claimed nine flying saucers were being reverse-engineered. He further asserted that one craft was recovered from an archaeological dig and that his employer was EG&G. The archive entry also mentions Lazar's claims regarding Project Galileo and Project Looking Glass.
