Radar Sighting Report — Patuxent Naval Air Station, December 1967

This document, dated January 19, 1969, details a series of radar observations recorded at Patuxent Naval Air Station on December 19, 1967. A Chief Petty Officer at the station reported three consecutive radar trackings between 3:15 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. The initial observation involved two objects separated by 10 miles. A second sighting occurred 39 miles southeast of the station, with the objects traveling at an estimated speed of 6,000 miles per hour before disappearing from the radar screen. A third sighting was recorded 8 miles northeast of the station, where an object performed a 160-degree turn before dropping off the screen. The document notes that at approximately the same time, the station checked with an FAA facility in Salisbury, Maryland, which had received reports of UFO sightings from the U.S. Coast Guard. Based on the radar data, the altitude of the objects was estimated to be between 3,000 and 25,000 feet.
