Patuxent Naval Air Station Sighting Report — December 19th

This document is a handwritten report detailing a series of radar observations of unidentified aerial phenomena occurring on December 19th between 3:15 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. near the Patuxent Naval Air Station. The report notes three consecutive radar trackings. The initial sighting involved two objects located 10 miles apart. A second sighting occurred 39 miles southeast of the station, with the objects traveling toward the base at an estimated speed of 6,000 miles per hour before disappearing from the screen 10 miles out. A third sighting of a single UFO was recorded 8 miles northeast of the station, which performed a 160-degree turn before dropping off the radar screen. The report mentions that at the same time, the station checked with an FAA facility in Salisbury, Maryland, which had received reports of UFO sightings from the U.S. Coast Guard. Based on the radar data, the altitude of the objects was estimated to be between 15,000 and 25,000 feet.
