Sighting of Unusual Object — 14 December 1960

This document is a memorandum dated 16 December 1960, issued by the Chief of the Detroit Office of the US Government. It serves to relay a report of an unusual aerial sighting to the USAF, should they still be interested in such phenomena. The primary witness, identified as a doctor specializing in dynamics and physics, reported observing an object at approximately 6:54 pm on Wednesday, 14 December 1960. The witness described the object as a greenish, off-white light that appeared disc-like rather than a point of light. It was observed at an elevation of 50 to 55 degrees, descending to 20 degrees, and moving at a 10-degree angle to the vertical toward the south. The witness noted the object was incandescent and appeared to be of a very high temperature, leading them to speculate it might be a missile or similar technology. The report also mentions that the witness questioned 25 students in a class; one student reported seeing the object while driving on Hines Drive, believing it was going to land near Telegraph. Another student, not in the class, also reportedly saw the object.
