PROJECT 10073 RECORD: UFO Observation, 24 October 1968

This document constitutes a Project Blue Book record regarding a UFO sighting reported by civilians in Riverside, New York, on October 24, 1968. The witnesses, identified as Mandy Marcus and Joanne Pushkin, observed an object at 4:00 p.m. from the 16th floor of a building called Skyview. They described the object as initially black and oval-shaped, moving up and down near the George Washington Bridge, and later noted it was standing still and turning orange. The witnesses submitted polaroid photographs of the object to the Air Force. The report includes correspondence from Captain Alan M. Shoemaker, who forwarded the materials to Lieutenant Colonel Hector Quintanilla at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Air Force subsequently requested that the witnesses complete an AF Form 117 to provide more detailed information for a scientific investigation. However, as of March 21, 1969, the witnesses had not returned the form. The official conclusion reached by the Foreign Technology Division was that there was insufficient data to conduct an investigation, as no identifiable UFO could be discerned from the submitted polaroid prints. The prints were ultimately returned to the witnesses without further analysis.
