Project 10073 Record — UFO Observation, 13 September 1968

This document is a collection of records pertaining to a UFO sighting reported by a 12-year-old student in Huntington, New York, on September 13, 1968. The witness, who identified their father as a pilot, observed a white-gray, oval-shaped object while lying in their backyard. The witness described the object as moving at a high rate of speed, faster than any jet they had previously seen, and noted that it appeared to wobble and had a tail that swayed as if it lacked a stabilizer. The observation lasted approximately 30 seconds before the object disappeared behind trees. The witness provided a detailed questionnaire (AF Form 117) and a personal letter to the Air Force. The Air Force's Foreign Technology Division, under the direction of Lt. Colonel Hector Quintanilla, Jr., reviewed the report. The official conclusion reached by the Air Force was that there was 'insufficient data for evaluation.'
