Port McNeill Sighting

This document is a private letter written by Sandra Siemens on March 12, 1967, detailing a series of observations of an unidentified aerial object near Port McNeill, British Columbia. The initial sighting occurred on March 4, 1967, beginning at 7:00 PM when the witness observed an object appearing as a large, bright star to the left of the crescent moon. Over the course of the evening, the object moved from left to right toward the horizon, appearing to decrease in size. The witness described the object as having 'bright knobs' and being 'shiny white' before shifting to red. By 8:45 PM, the witness noted the object was definitely oval in shape. The document includes hand-drawn sketches illustrating the object's appearance, including one version showing 'brightness beams' or lines. The object eventually disappeared into the sky at 9:01 PM. Siemens also reports that Mr. and Mrs. K. Pincott, residents of Sointula, observed the same object on the Friday night of the initial sighting and again on the night the letter was written. The letter concludes with a request for an opinion on the nature of the object.
