This document collection details a UFO sighting report from Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, occurring on 18 January 1967. A civilian witness reported observing a bright, round, blue-white light moving from the north-northwest to the southeast. The witness initially believed the object was the Echo satellite. Upon returning with a camera, the witness observed the object had changed to a dim, reddish-orange light. The witness provided six color slides for analysis, which were processed by the United States Air Force. The official Photo Analysis Report (NR 67-34), dated 1 May 1967, concluded that the images were insufficient for identification. Specifically, an image on one slide was attributed to a processing defect, while the other five slides contained images too small for detailed analysis. Correspondence between the witness and the Air Force indicates a period of frustration for the witness due to the lack of timely feedback. The final assessment by Colonel James C. Manatt stated that while an aircraft could have been responsible for the sighting, the lack of essential flight data, such as velocity and trajectory, meant that any explanation remained only a possibility.
