Disc Over Power Lines

This document is a January 1967 telex from the Vancouver Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) to CANFORCEMED regarding a series of sightings near Pemberton, British Columbia. The report details an incident involving a disc-shaped object observed by Mr. Lloyd Williams, Mr. and Mrs. John Andrews, Mr. Smith, and other residents of the Mount Curry Indian Reserve. The object was first sighted on January 24, 1967, at approximately 15:00, at which time it displayed lights. A subsequent sighting occurred on January 31, 1967, under clear weather conditions, though no lights were observed on this occasion. The object reportedly hovered with a swaying motion over power lines, followed the lines up the side of a mountain, and then ascended straight up upon reaching the summit. The duration of the sighting was noted as one-half hour. Mrs. A. Bikadi of Pemberton, who forwarded the report, had previously notified the RCMP in Pemberton. She emphasized that the residents of the reserve were familiar with the helicopters used to patrol the local power lines and explicitly stated that the observed object did not resemble those helicopters in any way.
