On November 13, 1966, at 1210Z, a civilian witness in Weirton, West Virginia, reported observing an unidentified aerial object. The witness, who was driving a car at the time, stated that she observed a single object parked on an electric power line derrick. She described the object as having a silvery metallic surface with pulsating white and red lights. According to the witness, the object remained stationary for approximately 5 to 8 minutes before moving slowly away in a southwest direction. The witness reported hearing a low, whirring, rotary sound, which she described as 'smooth' and 'gears sounds.' She estimated the object's altitude to be between 500 and 700 feet and its speed at approximately 30 miles per hour. The witness's husband, who was inside their house, did not observe the object.
