Project 10073 Record: Sighting Report - Philadelphia, PA, 3 August 1966

This document contains a Project Blue Book sighting report regarding an unidentified aerial phenomenon observed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 3, 1966. The witness, a civilian, reported observing a single, bright, star-like object that appeared whitish-silver with a faint red hue. The object was described as sparkling and moving in a straight path from the southwest to the northeast for a duration of 10 to 20 minutes. The witness noted that the object was silent and appeared to be as high as the stars. The sighting was initially relayed to the Air Force by the Duty Officer at Willow Grove Naval Station. Major Hector Quintanilla, Jr., Chief of Project Blue Book, subsequently sent a letter to the witness on August 8, 1966, stating that the information provided was insufficient for evaluation and requesting that the witness complete an attached FTD Form 164.
