UFO Sighting Report — Greene Township, Ohio, August 19, 1966

This document contains a series of records regarding a UFO sighting reported by a 43-year-old engineer and three youths on the evening of August 19, 1966, in Greene Township, Ohio. The observers, located on a farm near Route 87, reported seeing a solid object with three lights that exhibited no audible engine noise and performed abrupt turns. The witness described the lights as initially bright white, changing to reddish and bluish as the object approached. The witness estimated the object's altitude at 2,500 feet and its speed at 75 mph, noting that a fast automobile could have kept up with it on the ground. The observation lasted approximately three minutes. After the object disappeared into the horizon, the witnesses observed a space satellite moving eastward. The witness, who identified himself as a former skeptic, provided detailed sketches and completed an Air Force technical information questionnaire. The official conclusion reached by Major Hector Quintanilla, Jr. of Project Blue Book was that the sighting was possibly an aircraft, noting that the description was consistent with such an observation.
