Egg-Shaped Object — Bowen Island, BC — August 1966

In August 1966, at approximately 7:30 pm, an unidentified aerial phenomenon was observed over Bowen Island, British Columbia. The witness initially mistook the object for the planet Jupiter while observing the clear sky during daylight hours. Upon attempting to track the object with a telescope, the witness observed it moving in a southwesterly direction while losing altitude. The witness was able to view the object through the telescope for less than three seconds, describing it as egg-shaped with a fin-like structure near the rear. Due to an improperly adjusted eyepiece, the object appeared blurred. The witness estimated the object's speed to be under 300 mph and noted that it emitted an orange glow. The total duration of the sighting was approximately 10 minutes, during which the witness watched the object until it disappeared from view while continuing to travel southwest. The witness expressed uncertainty regarding the object's altitude.
