This document details a Project Blue Book investigation into an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) sighting reported by two civilians near Union, Pennsylvania, on 11 July 1966. The witnesses, both school bus drivers, reported observing a large, bright red object with small windows and yellow lights in a hay field for approximately one hour. They described the object as emitting a humming noise from the exterior and a grinding noise from the interior. The witnesses also noted significant static on their car radio when approaching the area. Upon reporting the incident to the Pennsylvania State Police, the witnesses were met with skepticism and uncooperative behavior; the police reportedly dismissed the account, suggesting it might be related to local folklore about a 'strange beast' or an optical illusion caused by a rainbow. Subsequent investigations by TSgt Robert A. Molino of the 436th Military Airlift Wing included a site visit to the hay field, where no physical evidence of landing or damage to the vegetation was found. The official Air Force conclusion, as stated in the Project 10073 record, is that the case remains 'UNIDENTIFIED' because no plausible explanation could be determined from the available information.
