Project 10073 Record — Kettering, Ohio, March 1966

This document contains records from Project 10073 regarding two separate civilian reports of unidentified aerial phenomena in Kettering, Ohio, in late March 1966. The first report, dated 28 March 1966, describes a single object observed for ten minutes moving from the southwest to the southeast. The witness described the object as being as bright as a star but moving faster than a jet. The second report, dated 30 March 1966, involves a witness who described the object as a transparent balloon that was well-lighted inside, moving in a zig-zag motion from south to north. Correspondence from Major Hector Quintanilla, Jr., Chief of Project Blue Book, indicates that the initial information provided by the witnesses was insufficient for evaluation, prompting the Air Force to send FTD Form 164 questionnaires to the witnesses for further details. The final conclusion recorded by the Air Force for these sightings was that the objects were the PEGASUS II satellite.
