UFO Sighting Report — Aberdeen, Idaho, November 1965

This document consists of a personal letter from a resident of Aberdeen, Idaho, addressed to 'whom it may concern,' detailing an aerial sighting on November 16, 1965, at approximately 12:30 AM. The witness describes coming out of their basement and observing an object in the sky while on the outside steps. The object appeared as a red light, similar in size to a plane, but without the typical flashing lights. The witness notes that the object moved swiftly from East to West at a very high altitude. The witness describes the object leaving a trail of white sparkles that appeared to be attached to the object, comparing the visual effect to a sparkler. The witness explicitly states that the object was not a meteor or a comet. The letter was forwarded by Colonel Robert A. Olson of the North American Air Defense Command (NORAD) to the Foreign Technology Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on November 18, 1965, for their information.
