UFO Report — Twin Falls, Idaho, July 1965

This document consists of a series of reports and correspondence regarding a UFO sighting in Twin Falls, Idaho, occurring between July 29 and July 30, 1965. A civilian witness, who identified themselves as having one year of self-study in astronomy and being a member of an astronomy club for two weeks, reported seeing five distinct objects. The objects were described as having the appearance of first-magnitude stars in size and shape, but with a 'row boat bottom' and 'bullet shaped nose-convex tail' configuration. They were reported to be 'cool light blue' or 'ice blue' in color and were observed moving in different directions. The duration of each sighting was reported as a fraction of a second. The investigating officer, Captain John D. Moff, visited the site 24 hours after the incident. He reported that weather conditions were nearly identical to those at the time of the sighting, with clear skies and many stars visible. Despite his own observations, he noted that he did not see any shooting stars or other phenomena that would explain the report. The official conclusion reached by the Air Force was that the sightings were astronomical in nature, specifically attributed to meteor showers, with a handwritten note on the report explicitly mentioning the 'Aquarid meteor shower'. The report follows the standard AFR 200-2 format for UFO reporting.
