Project 10073 Record Card and Incoming Message — San Jose, California, 19 June 1964

On 19 June 1964, at approximately 0730Z, an unidentified aerial phenomenon was reported in San Jose, California. The witness, a 25-year-old unemployed male, observed two round, bright white objects traveling in a line, separated by approximately one mile. The objects were reported to be heading north and were visible for only a matter of seconds. The observer was located at 49 N. Th Ave. in San Jose. The sky conditions were clear, though it was noted that the sky was well-illuminated by two searchlights operating for commercial purposes in the area. No optical aids were used by the observer. The report was processed by the 682nd Radar Squadron at Almaden AFS, California, and forwarded to the AFCS Foreign Technology Division. 1st Lt Peter D. Prentiss, the intelligence officer reviewing the case, concluded that the cause of the sighting could not be determined, citing the limited information available for a comprehensive analysis.
