The report details observations made by a family on the nights of 1 May and 3 May 1964. The witnesses described a star-shaped, white object that appeared to scintillate and emit rays, with one witness noting it resembled automobile headlights. The object was observed from the family's home, first from the ground floor and later from the second floor, appearing to be approximately 25 feet above the ground and moving toward the West before fading. The sighting lasted for one hour. The Military Air Transport Service forwarded the report to the Air Force Systems Command (Foreign Technology Division) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. An investigation, which included consultation with the Air Weather Service (AWS) Solar Branch, concluded that the sightings were likely caused by the planets Venus and Jupiter. The intelligence analyst noted that the object was likely a planet magnified by atmospheric distortion, haze, and the specific angle of observation. No physical evidence was found, and no interception or identification action was taken.
