Project 10073 Record Card — Snowmass, Colorado, December 1963

This document consists of a Project 10073 record card and associated correspondence regarding a UFO sighting in Snowmass, Colorado, in December 1963. A civilian witness reported observing three objects at dusk for over an hour. The witness described the objects as moving fairly fast, standing still, and moving slowly. Through field glasses, the objects appeared to be black and red. The witness also noted that a neighbor living five miles away observed similar objects. The correspondence shows the witness initially contacted the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the inquiry was subsequently forwarded to the Office of Information. Major Robert A. Webb and Major Maston M. Jacks handled the correspondence, providing the witness with a U.S. Air Force Technical Information questionnaire (Form FTD 164). The final evaluation on the record card concludes that the objects were likely balloons, with the case officially evaluated as a balloon observation on May 25, 1964.
