Project 10073 Record Card — Dayton, Ohio, June 24, 1959

This document is a Project 10073 record card and accompanying questionnaire regarding a UFO sighting reported on June 24, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio. The witness, whose name is redacted, reported observing a single, very bright, white-colored object moving at a very high altitude. The witness claimed the object traveled across the sky toward the northeast at a speed faster than any jet they had ever seen. The observation lasted between three and five minutes on a clear, though slightly hazy, night. The witness reported that the object made no sound and appeared round in shape. The witness was accompanied by a stepson and an uncle at the time of the sighting. According to the notes on the record card and the questionnaire, the witness was interviewed by phone on June 26, 1959. The interviewer noted that the witness sounded like a young man in his late teens or early twenties. The witness stated that the object did not look as high as the stars and that it was shaped like the flying saucers he had seen in pictures. The investigating analyst concluded that the witness was unreliable and, consequently, did not attempt any further analysis of the report.
