Glowing Orb Seen At Langley

In late September 1956, Leonard Woods was working at a neighbor's property in Langley, British Columbia. After finishing his tasks at 7:00 p.m., he observed an enormous, glowing, saucer-like object in the southwest sky. The object, which appeared to be an orb emitting its own light, was described as having a reddish hue with a yellow tinge, accompanied by a 'bridal train of light' trailing behind it. The object moved from the southwest, arcing up to the mid-zenith. Woods alerted the lady of the house, who also witnessed the phenomenon. Her husband was subsequently called to observe the object, at which point it had moved to the northeast zenith. The trail of light appeared to foreshorten before the object vanished from sight rapidly. The entire sighting lasted approximately two minutes. During the event, two planes were observed taking off from a nearby airfield; the witness noted that these aircraft appeared infinitesimally small in comparison to the object.
