Project 10073 Record Card — Pasadena, California, 23 October 1955

This document is a Project 10073 record card and accompanying teletype report concerning an unidentified aerial phenomenon sighting in Pasadena, California, on October 23, 1955. The report was filed by 1st Lieutenant A.E. Sanders of the 669th ACWRON. The primary witness, a 25-year-old civilian engineer, reported observing an object for approximately three seconds as it passed through the searchlights of Pasadena. The witness described the object as round and white, but also noted it was shaped like a triangle. The object was estimated to be at an altitude of 200 feet and traveling in a southerly direction. The report indicates that the witness's apparent size estimate for the object was that of a 50-cent piece. Despite the clear weather conditions with seven miles of visibility, no radar contact was made, and no photographs or film were taken. The military's official conclusion, as noted on the record card and in the teletype, was that there was insufficient data to perform a meaningful evaluation of the sighting.
