Project 10073 Record - Biloxi, Mississippi - 25 September 1954

This document is a Project 10073 record detailing a UFO sighting that occurred on September 25, 1954, at 0500Z in Biloxi, Mississippi. The witness, a 32-year-old civilian radar instructor at Keesler AFB Technical Schools, observed between one and four objects for approximately ten minutes. The objects were described as appearing like the head of a pin, initially pure white to dull orange, and extremely bright. The witness reported that the objects joined each other at different times to form a box formation. The flight path was observed from the southeast to the north-northwest, ending when the objects were obscured by buildings. The weather conditions at the time included slight thunderstorm activity and intermittent lightning to the southeast of the base. Although the Keesler AFB tower reported no air traffic in the immediate area, a local airman claimed to have heard a jet and seen navigation lights on an aircraft following an identical flight path at approximately the same time. The official conclusion recorded on the form is 'Probably Aircraft,' yet the investigating officer from Wing Plans and Programs explicitly stated that the analysis of factors and the interrogation of the witness offered no logical explanation for the sighting. The report was submitted in compliance with paragraph 7 of AFR 220-2.
