Correspondence regarding UFO sighting in Islip Terrace, New York, October 1967

This document consists of correspondence between the United States Air Force and a resident of Islip Terrace, New York, regarding a series of sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena on October 11, 1967. The witness reported observing multiple objects with blinking red and blue lights near Connetquot Avenue. According to the witness's account, the objects moved at extremely high speeds, hovered over the witnesses, and emitted a high-pitched shrill sound. The witness described the objects as moving between various streets, including Elmwood Street, Garden City Street, and Manhattan Boulevard. The witness provided a hand-drawn diagram illustrating the locations of the objects and their proximity to their residence. In a reply dated October 25, 1967, Major David L. Stiles of the USAF Civil Branch, Community Relations Division, acknowledged the report but stated that insufficient information was provided to make a positive identification. The Air Force enclosed a copy of the latest Project Blue Book report and requested that the witness complete an attached questionnaire to assist in further evaluation of the incident.
