UFO Observation Report — Ardmore, Tennessee, 7 November 1967

The witness observed a single object at approximately 4:10 pm CST, describing it as a flat, rectangular, metallic-looking object with black tips and a red middle. The witness reported that the object moved steadily to the south before disappearing. The investigation was conducted by Major Hector Quintanilla, Jr. of the Aerial Phenomena Office at the Foreign Technology Division, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The Air Force contacted the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) at the Huntsville Municipal Airport and the local police departments in Huntsville and Decatur to determine if other reports had been made or if aircraft were in the vicinity. The FAA responded that they had no record of such an object and that their controllers did not observe it. They noted that the sighting location was near a direct flight route between Huntsville and Nashville, where aircraft would typically be operating at altitudes between 3,500 and 10,000 feet. The official conclusion reached by the Air Force was that the object was a 'Possible (AIRCRAFT).'
