UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS SIGHTED IN MATANZAS SKIES

This document is an FBIS report dated December 23, 1993, detailing a sighting of unidentified flying objects in Matanzas, Cuba, on December 21, 1993. The report originates from a broadcast by the Havana Radio Progreso network. According to the account provided by Candido Dominguez, a group of residents in Matanzas observed a phenomenon shortly before 1900 hours. The witness described seeing a bright white ball followed by a lighted tail, which subsequently multiplied into six or seven objects. These objects were observed moving in a north-to-south trajectory and remained visible for approximately 30 seconds. The report notes that specialists from the Territorial Meteorology Section of the Cuban Academy of Sciences also observed the phenomenon from various locations in the city. One individual, Jesus Gomez, reported seeing the objects from Jovellanos, located 42 kilometers southeast of Matanzas. Orestes Gribao, a meteorologist who has studied UFOs for years, reportedly compared the sighting to a photograph taken in 1913 at the Toronto Observatory in Canada, suggesting a similarity between the two events.
