NUFORC Sightings Report: 01/1979

This document is a compilation of twelve Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sighting reports recorded by the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) for the month of January 1979. The reports span various locations, primarily within the United States, but also including Canada and South Korea. The sightings describe a diverse range of phenomena, including a grey rectangular patch observed through binoculars in Houston, Texas; a silent, enormous triangle in Salt Lake City, Utah; and a 25-minute event involving a triangle-shaped object observed by multiple witnesses on Interstate 40 in New Mexico. Other reports include a fireball in Los Angeles, a hovering disk in Key West, a bright light on the ground in Humnoke, Arkansas, and a low-altitude disk with red lights in Redondo Beach, California. One report from Orange, California, describes a saucer appearing in broad daylight accompanied by humming and deep bass sounds. Another entry notes a 'Visitation Experience' in Silvertown, South Korea. The final report details a disk sighting on Highway 80 in California, which was formally reported to the Air Force by four witnesses. The document serves as a chronological log of these civilian-reported encounters.
