THE PRINCIPLE OF TRANSMOGRIFICATION

This document consists of two distinct parts. The first, written by John A. Keel, discusses the 'Principle of Transmogrification.' Keel argues that UFO researchers have historically focused too heavily on the idea of manufactured machines, ignoring the vast variety of 'eccentric' and 'bastard' sightings that do not fit the standard saucer model. He suggests that these objects are not necessarily extraterrestrial craft but rather temporary, manufactured phenomena designed to confuse observers. He references Project Blue Book Report No. 14, noting that the U.S. Air Force failed to find uniformity in the reports they analyzed. Keel posits that these objects may be composed of energy from the upper electromagnetic spectrum, capable of being manipulated into various forms. The second part of the document, authored by Anthony J. Brunt, details two 'creature' reports from New Zealand. The first involves Miss Gay Harvey and Mr. Nino Perego, who encountered a humanoid figure in a 'diver's suit' on a road near Wairakei in late 1968. The second report concerns Mr. Nathan Brown, who encountered three figures in Awanui on February 22, 1968. Brown observed three individuals sitting in a ditch; they appeared to be wearing dark blue suits and helmets with clear plastic windows. The figures did not respond to his greeting, and he later questioned if they were involved in a motor accident.
