Lopes, reported a luminous object hovering over the facility, causing panic among the personnel. Lieutenant Vieira immediately initiated security measures and proceeded to the site. Upon arrival, he confirmed the sightings with several personnel, including 3rd Sergeant Odilon, Soldier Pedro, and a security guard named Souza. The witnesses described an object with intense, diffuse luminosity that changed colors—specifically shifting between red and yellow—and exhibited extraordinary speed and maneuverability. The object was reported to move silently and, at times, appeared to remain stationary before suddenly changing direction or disappearing. The report notes that the night was clear with perfect visibility. Despite the intense visual observations, the object was not detected by the Air Defense radar systems. The detachment personnel also reported suspicious activity, including the throwing of stones at the facility, which led the commander to order warning shots from a HK-33 rifle to deter potential intruders, though no one was found.
