Flying Saucers Seen Over Sweden

This document, identified as FDD Note No 887, provides a brief account of a reported Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon sighting in Sweden. According to a report published in the Stockholm newspaper Stockholms-Tidningen on January 20, 1959, eight individuals described as reliable witnesses observed a flying saucer over Stigsjoe, near Haernossand in the Vaesternorrland Province. The object was described as a round craft, measuring between six and eight meters in diameter, and was encircled by a luminous ring approximately two meters wide. The underside of the object emitted a reddish-yellow light. The witnesses observed the object as it approached slowly from the south, passing over Lake Laargsjoen at an altitude of approximately 300 meters. The entire sighting lasted for a duration of about three minutes. The document concludes by noting that the incident has been formally reported to the appropriate military authorities.
