RELATÓRIO DESCRITIVO DA VISUALIZAÇÃO DE UM OBJETO NÃO IDENTIFICADO EM ANÁPOLIS

This document is a descriptive report regarding the sighting of an unidentified aerial object at the Anápolis Air Base (BAAN) on March 23, 2001. The report compiles testimonies from four military personnel: the Alert pilot (Cap.-Av. Leonardo), the Operations Officer (Cap.-Av. Navarro), the Tower Operator (3S Tadeu), and a SAR pilot (Cap.-Av. Alfredo Martins Filho). The incident began around 15:00 local time when the object was reported by civilians in Ipameri and Catalão and subsequently observed by military personnel at the base. The object was described as a bright, star-like light that remained stationary, alternating between silver and pink hues. Radar controllers at APP Anápolis confirmed a plot on the radar at approximately 25 nautical miles on the 165-degree radial. An alert aircraft (F-103) was scrambled to intercept the object. The pilot reported seeing a bright point at 30 degrees to his right, estimated at 20 nautical miles away, but lost visual contact when he diverted his attention to the cockpit. Despite climbing to FL 150 and FL 200, the pilot could not reacquire the object. The report concludes that the object's identity could not be determined due to its intense luminosity and the distance from the observers.
