AVISTAMIENTO DE FENOMENOS EXTRAÑOS (EXPEDIENTE NÚMERO: 780720)

On July 20, 1978, at approximately 01:20 local time, a soldier on duty at the main gate of the Agoncillo Aerodrome in Logroño, Spain, observed an unidentified object in the sky. He alerted the guard post, and subsequently, an Alferez and a Cabo joined him to observe the object for approximately five minutes. The witnesses reported that the object flew at an altitude of roughly 1,000 meters, moving in an East-to-West direction at a low speed and without making any noise. The witnesses provided conflicting descriptions regarding the object's shape; two described it as a rhombus, while the third described it as a triangle. Regarding the lighting, the witnesses noted white lights at the vertices of the object and a more intense, intermittent white light located in the center. The report was formally communicated by the acting commander of the Agoncillo Aerodrome to the General Chief of the 3rd Air Region. By February 1995, the Mando Operativo Aéreo (MOA) determined that there were no aspects of the incident that required the file to remain classified, and it was subsequently declassified.
