Bright Orange Light Over Victoria

In 1970, Andrew Charles Birch reported observing an unidentified aerial phenomenon in Victoria, British Columbia. At approximately 10:40 p.m., while watching television, Birch noticed a moderately bright orange light moving across the sky. He described the object as traveling at an angle of roughly 30 degrees, maintaining a path parallel to the horizon. Birch alerted his brother, who also witnessed the object. During the observation, the brother moved to a different window, though his view was partially obstructed by a street light. Birch reported that the object maintained a constant intensity throughout the sighting, although his brother perceived the movement as jerky, a detail Birch attributed to the window glass. The total duration of the sighting was approximately 45 seconds, ending when the object dimmed and vanished within two seconds.
