The observer, a civilian, reported seeing a bright, star-like object at 2000 hours, which they described as changing colors—red, white, orange, and green—and moving back and forth in the sky. The observer noted that during the 1 hour and 15-minute duration of the sighting, approximately six other objects were seen moving in the sky. The observer attempted to signal the objects using Morse code with a porch light, which they believed caused increased activity, and noted that the event coincided with TV static and barking dogs. The observer also provided sketches of the objects' movements and their appearance relative to local landmarks like a windmill. The official conclusion provided by the Foreign Technology Division (FTD) identified the primary object as the star Capella, noting that its position at the time of the sighting matched the observer's report, and concluded that the other observed objects were likely aircraft.
