This document contains the records of a UFO sighting reported by a civilian woman in Somerville, Ohio, on November 13, 1968. The witness, accompanied by her two daughters, reported observing a large, oval-shaped, gray object while driving north on Jacksonburg-Gratis Road toward State Route 503. The witness described the object as having five lights that swirled and blinked, and noted that it appeared to follow her vehicle. She estimated the object's altitude at 75-100 feet and its speed between 5 and 80 mph. The witness reported that the object hovered over a group of houses in Gratis before moving off in the direction of Eaton. The witness expressed significant fear during the encounter, noting that her dog also reacted to the object. The Air Force, through the Foreign Technology Division's Aerial Phenomena Office, requested that the witness complete an AF Form 117 to provide further details for a scientific investigation. However, the witness failed to return the form by the February 12, 1969 deadline. Consequently, the official conclusion recorded by the Air Force was 'Insufficient Data.' The investigating officer, Lt. Colonel Hector Quintanilla, Jr., noted that no further investigation would be conducted, suggesting the sighting was likely similar to past reports of a local aerial advertising plane operated by Dale Barns.
