This document contains a U.S. Air Force sighting report and associated correspondence regarding a series of unidentified aerial phenomena observed by a 10-year-old witness in Massapequa, New York. The witness reported observing an object on multiple dates between January and February 1967, typically between 6:30 and 7:00 P.M. The witness described the object as consisting of two large plates stacked on top of each other, with a dull gray, steel-like appearance, windows, and a steel lining. The object was reported to make a sound described as being 'like a giant vacuum' and exhibited a 'wiggling' motion. The witness noted that the object would move behind clouds and reappear. The Air Force, via the Foreign Technology Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, initially sent a letter on March 15, 1967, stating that the information received was insufficient for a scientific evaluation and requested the completion of FTD Form 164. The witness subsequently completed the form in June 1967. A handwritten note on the Air Force correspondence indicates that the case remained classified as 'insufficient data' because the completed form was not received until late June 1967.
