On November 21, 1966, at approximately 0200Z, a civilian witness in Warwick, New York, observed two objects for the duration of one hour. The witness, an attorney, reported that the objects appeared similar to stars but were pulsating with changing colors, specifically green, yellow, and red on the perimeter, with red on the bottom. The objects were observed using binoculars and were initially seen in the NW quadrant at an elevation of 30 degrees, eventually disappearing in the NE quadrant at an elevation of 25 degrees. The witness noted that the objects moved in a slow, non-erratic flight path, though they appeared to speed up just before disappearing to the north. The witness was accompanied by three other individuals during the observation. The investigating officer, Captain Henry I. Pierce of the USAF, noted that the witness was somewhat vague regarding the specific direction and flight path of the objects. Captain Pierce concluded that the sighting was likely of astronomical bodies, suggesting that the unusual appearance and movement could be attributed to visual phenomena caused by an atmospheric inversion.
