On October 18, 1966, at 0700Z, two civilian witnesses in Rossburg, Ohio, observed an unidentified aerial phenomenon. The witnesses were traveling in an automobile at approximately 50 miles per hour when they noticed a bright blue object. According to the report, the object appeared as a light, brighter than the brightest stars, and maintained a position in front of their vehicle for approximately 15 minutes. The witnesses described the object's shape as resembling a football. The object followed the car until the witnesses arrived at a farm belonging to one of the observer's relatives. Upon arrival, the object hovered over a field just a few feet from the farmhouse before fading away. The witnesses reported that the object made no sound and they were unable to determine its heading or its position in the sky. The weather was reported as clear and dry. The U.S. Air Force concluded that there was insufficient data for a formal evaluation of the incident.
