Turned On Very Strong Spotlight

This document summarizes a report received during a June 20, 1977, phone-in show on CBC Edmonton regarding an unidentified aerial phenomenon observed in September 1966. An anonymous witness reported that while driving on the main highway between Terrace and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, he and others stopped to observe a glowing, disc-shaped object. The object, estimated to be 28-32 feet in diameter, was hovering near the mountains at an elevation of 25-28 degrees above the horizon. The witness noted that the object had a red light on its back and appeared to move up and down, though he speculated this might have been an illusion caused by the object rotating and tilting. Most notably, the object activated a very strong spotlight, described as resembling magnesium light, before the light extinguished and the object departed toward the east. The observation lasted for approximately 20 minutes. The report also mentions that four hours later, a second individual observed a strange light in the sky and lights on the water in the same general area.
