The witness, a snack bar waitress, observed these objects for approximately three to four hours during the night. She described the objects as appearing 'half dollar' in size and noted a humming sound associated with the sighting. Subsequent investigation by the Headquarters 2852D Air Base Group at McClellan Air Force Base involved checking with base operations, the control tower, and the base weather station.
