Project 10073 Record — Leetonia, Ohio, 11 May 1966

This document consists of a Project Blue Book case record and associated correspondence regarding an unidentified aerial observation in Leetonia, Ohio. A civilian witness reported observing a single object over a three-week period, typically between 2130 and 2300 hours. The witness described the object as a reddish-amber light that did not blink, which led them to rule out an airplane. The object was observed at a high altitude, though lower than the stars, and consistently moved in a westerly direction, occasionally deviating slightly to the northwest or southwest. The witness, having read a newspaper article by Ted Tedes on the subject of flying saucers, reached out to the Air Force for a logical explanation. Major Hector Quintanilla, Jr., Chief of Project Blue Book, responded on 24 May 1966, noting that the information provided in the initial letter was insufficient for a formal evaluation. The Air Force sent an FTD Form 164 to the witness to gather more detailed data, but the form was never returned. Consequently, the official conclusion recorded on the Project 10073 record is 'INSUFFICIENT DATA FOR EVALUATION.'
