On April 15, 1966, an unemployed laborer in Miles City, Montana, reported observing two unidentified objects while waiting for his father near railroad tracks. The observer described the objects as having a classic spinning saucer shape, silver in color, and appearing to quiver and wobble. He estimated their size to be comparable to a little finger held at arm's length. One of the objects reportedly glowed with a bright light for approximately one minute. The observation lasted for ten minutes at an elevation of 15 degrees. The objects eventually departed, maintaining their relative positions. The 902 Radar Squadron at Miles City AFS investigated the report. Their assessment was highly critical of the witness's credibility. Local law enforcement officials described the observer as 'most unreliable.' The investigating officer noted that the witness was extremely religious, possessed a copy of Fate Magazine from 1965, and believed that flying saucers were a sign of the end of the world. The investigator concluded that the witness was impressionable and likely imagined the event to satisfy a desire to see a flying saucer. The report was classified as an unreliable sighting.
