Project 10073 Record — Sighting Report, Baltimore, Maryland, 25 April 1966

This document contains the records of a UFO sighting reported on April 25, 1966, in Baltimore, Maryland. A civilian witness reported observing approximately 200 objects flying in a 'V' formation from east to west over the course of an hour and a half. The witness described the objects as bronze-colored, circular to elliptical, and moving in an erratic, weaving manner without sound. The witness noted that the objects appeared to be at different altitudes and that their flight pattern seemed purposeful. The official investigation, conducted under Project 10073, concluded that the objects were birds. A separate incident occurring at 0015 GMT on the same date, involving a 'greenish-white fire ball with orange tail,' was reported by a tower controller and pilots at Friendship International Airport; this was subsequently identified as a comet by the United States Weather Bureau. The witness expressed frustration with the difficulty of reporting the sighting to the proper authorities and noted that she had also reported the event to NICAP.
